Golden Anniversary garden improvements
One of the delights of Rusthall Lodge Care Home, Tunbridge Wells, is the garden. As part of our 50th birthday celebrations offering residential, nursing and respite care, we’re making it even better.
The sun trap at the front of our care home is a delightful, sheltered spot for both residents and visitors to enjoy, with its beautiful borders and welcoming benches. On any warm, dry day, you’re likely to find individuals or groups outside, chatting, reading, knitting, or simply relishing the fresh air.
We already have numerous benches as well as flower beds and pots that delight from early spring through to the autumn. But our Golden Anniversary improvements will provide even more colour and the chance to catch even more of the sun.
As a lasting memorial of our 50th anniversary as a care home providing residential, nursing and respite care for the elderly of Rusthall, Tunbridge Wells, Langton Green and the surrounding areas in Kent and Sussex, we are also installing a commemorative sundial. The sundial, and some of the other features, were suggested by our residents – after all, it’s their home!
(They also decided the sundial should have familiar, rather than Roman numbers.) It’s being specially made for us by Chilstone [https://www.chilstone.com/], award-winning garden ornament designers and manufacturers, based in Fordcombe.
Work is beginning on the new garden improvements shortly. The contractors will be keeping disruption to a minimum so residents and visitors can continue to enjoy the garden, and the summer.
The new garden features will be officially opened by Tunbridge Wells MP, Greg Clarke, during our summer garden fete, 2-4pm, which will include classic cars, entertainment and refreshments. We do hope you will join us!
